At last!

Mia finally said mama! I know she doesn't know what she is saying, but it is still music to my ears!!!
These are pictures of her playing with my cell phone. She loves our cell phones for some reason. We bought her a toy one that makes noises, but she would still rather have ours. Go figure!
Also, finally last night we had a full nights sleep. Miss Mia went down at 8 and did not wake up until I woke her up at 6:30. YAHOO!!!!! It was wonderful! Not even a peep out of her all night. It was awesome!!!

Baby Monet

Mia really gets in to her Baby Monet DVD. Everytime she watches it is like the first time she has ever seen it. She is definitely developing her own little personality. No more baby food at night for her. She'll just have whatever we are eating. Green beans, bread, and lasagna seem to be her favorite, but as long as it comes off of our plate she will eat it. She has also developed a new way of smiling. I must capture it on camera. She smiles as big as she can and tilts her head back so you can see all of her top gum. It's so cute!!! She has started waving, but not on command. She just randomly does it. She loves to give hugs. Everyday when I pick her up from daycare she will crawl over to me and give me a big hug. Ah!! Melts your heart!! Life is good!

Happy Birthday, Grandpa Tim!
Ryan's parents and grandparents came up on Saturday to celebrate Grandpa Tim's birthday. They were able to spend some quality time with Mia and then we all went to eat at Roger's. It was yummy! Mia loved the country cookin' as much as the rest of us! She got her belly full and had a little ice cream for dessert!
Late posting - 9 months old!

Mia turned 9 months old on Aug. 4th. She went for her 9 month check-up on Aug. 8th. She weighed 20 1/2 pounds and was 29 1/2 inches long. She was not happy about having shots again, but the doctor said she was doing great otherwise! We finally have a tooth popping through. This has been a rough week with fever from the shots and the tooth. Mia won't let you touch it, but you can see it when she smiles! It's hard to believe that she has been here with me as long as I was pregnant with her! She is doing new things everyday and never fails to put a smile on our faces - she is such a ham! She is now preferring tablefood and turning her nose up at baby food. She has a hearty appetite and still loves her bottle of course.
It's hard to believe she'll be one in less than 3 months!

Clapping

Mia finally started clapping on Friday night. This must have been her gift to Grandpa for his birthday! The whole family was there to witness this milestone. Now, she claps when she's happy, she claps when she's sad, and she claps when she's mad....
She also took her first dip in her baby pool. She seemed to like it, but seemed more interested in reaching over to pull up grass and eat it. Ugh!
