Family Day

Saturday we had Martek Family Day at Lynches River Park. Everything turned out nice except for it being a little cool. At least it didn't rain! Mia behaved like a little angel! She let people hold her while she blew bubbles and "talked" to them. I was so proud!
After Family Day we went to a bridal shower for Aunt Chas. Mia fell asleep there. When we got back home we both fell asleep in the recliner for 2 1/2 hours. We were pooped!
Mia got to see both sets of grandparents this weekend. Ryan's parents came up Friday night and we went out to eat at Sagebrush. Yummy! Yesterday mama, daddy, and aunt Emily came over and we took Mia to Olan Mills to get her picture made. I must say that it didn't go that well! Mia started getting cranky and her nose was constantly running. The photographer did manage to get a few really cute pictures though - even though Mia refused to smile!!!

Loving Immanuel...

Only 2 days and I love Immanuel Daycare already! When I go in to pick her up she is playing with the other babies - as opposed to the other daycare where they had her in her carrier and were handing her to me as soon as I walked in the door. I get a detailed schedule of how her day went - from how many diapers were changed and what was in them to how long each nap was that she took. I hope it continues to go this well! It makes my day easier if my mind is at ease!
Some little milestones over the last few days: Mia is now reaching for toys and reaching for us when we go to pick her up, she continues to gobble up green beans, she is mimicking me sticking my tongue out at her, and when we're holding her and someone talks to her she smiles and then buries her little head in our chest like she's shy. Too cute!!!
Last, but not least, we finally got a full nights sleep last night. For those of you who don't know, Mia has been getting up in the middle of the night again to eat. She has been doing this since we took her for her 4 month shots. She goes right back to sleep, but I think we were spoiled from having 2 months of full nights sleep. I hope this wasn't just a fluke! I'll keep you all updated!

Another big girl school...

Today Mia started her new big girl school (aka daycare). She is now at Immanuel Baptist Daycare. This is where we originally wanted her, but they didn't have an opening until now. She must've been real excited about going because she kept waking up last night! They seemed really happy to have her there this morning.
We found her a high chair this weekend that we liked. She's so cute in it. She had green beans this weekend. She loved them - better than sweet potatoes, carrots, and squash. I guess she's going to love her greens like her mama and daddy! Also, her headbands came in Friday that I ordered off of Ebay. Aren't they adorable? I'm sure it's just a matter of weeks before she realizes that it's on her head and she can pull it off!

Yikes! Mommy is 30 today!

Swinging makes me sleepy!

My little tiger!

Birthday weekend...

Mama, daddy, Emily, and Brian all came over Saturday afternoon to grill out for my 30th birthday. We had a good time and I got some great gifts! Ryan grilled burgers and mama and daddy made Brunswick Stew. Yummy! I also had a 10 layer chocolate cake.
We missed the Boykin's being there though. Mrs. Kathy was feeling a little under the weather and Mr. Tim felt like he was also coming down with something. Hopefully, we'll get to see them this week.
We bought a convertible car seat for Miss Long Legs since she is quickly growing out of her carrier. We haven't tried it out yet, but it looks really comfortable. I think she'll like it.
Miss Mia just gets cuter everyday! She loves to feel faces and squeal in delight! She also likes trying to get her mouth around mama's nose to suck on it! It's so sweet! We're so in love with her!

4 month check-up

We took Mia to see Dr. Farish on Wed. for her 4 month check-up and shots. She weighed in at 15 lbs. and 26 3/4 inches! Tall and slender! She is in the 97th percentile for height and 75th percentile for weight. She was not happy about the shots at all, but calmed down once she was back in my arms. She didn't sleep very well though. She was up almost every 2 hours and that's not like her at all.
We've been battling her first fever this week. She was so pitiful. She's a trooper though. She still managed a few smiles for mama, mimi, and daddy.
It's so hard to see them not feeling well. She just wanted to be held and snuggled up close to someone, so of course we obliged! I'm sure the daycare is going to be thrilled with us when she goes back tomorrow! :-)

Baby Einstein-ing while mommy cooks!

Sleepy head...

Jump, Jump, Jumperoo!!!

Jumperoo fun!

Ryan and I finally found a Jumperoo for Mia Friday night. She is soooo cute in it. We've had so much fun watching her hop around in it!
Saturday her grandparents (Boykin) came to keep her for the day while Ryan and I went to Columbia to shop and eat for our anniversary. It was nice to have some alone time, but I couldn't wait to get back to Mia. She had a good day visiting with her grandparents and her great-grandparents even came up for a little while to see her. She was worn out Saturday night and fell asleep without her last bottle. It didn't seem to matter - she slept almost 10 hours of good sleep - not that fidgety, light sleep with a paci! This was a deep, paci-less sleep!
Our cable was out all weekend, so yesterday we just watched movies and napped. The girl loves naps!!! It was a nice weekend.
This week she gets her 4 month shots (Yikes), and next weekend everyone is coming to our house to celebrate my 30th birthday (Yikes again!).
